Introducing Artist Danielle Boodoo-Fortuné

Do you like the new banner art? It was created by a super talented Trinidadian artist named Danielle Boodoo-Fortuné. Read on to learn more about her...

Introduce yourself: Describe your work in two sentences or less..
I'm a poet and an artist. I'd describe both my art and my poetry as quiet, bright, and deceptively simple. I'm still figuring out what I understand my heart's work to be, really.

Tell me a bit about your background: Where are you from in Trinidad? What was it like growing up there?
I'm from Sangre Grande, in the north east. It's very quiet, and was even more so when I was growing up. The area where I spent my childhood years was surrounded my trees, and always seemed just on the edge of wilderness. That area has changed so much, but there is still that space in my imagination that's the same...

And We're Back..With a New Look!

I hear it's spring time in some parts of the world. Living in a tropical country with two seasons i.e. rain and sun you tend to forget that it's the season of re-birth/ awakening in countries to the north..

I'm having my own kind of awakening, finding parts of myself that I thought I had lost. So I thought, it would  be a good time to start blogging again.

I hope you're happy to have me back :-) I've interviewed some new inspiring women since I've been gone who I think you'll be happy to meet.

Things have changed around here a bit. The awesomely talented Danielle Boodoo Fortuné created this gorgeous new blog banner. Please help me thank her by checking out her blog here.

Here's to new and lovely discoveries.

Yours,

Patricia.
